21st century material
Many of YIP’s soft knit fabrics are custom-knit using Recover yarns, an innovative, 100% sustainable source material that works to close the loop in fashion by upcycling textile waste.
Recover regenerates cotton fiber from old clothing and cutting scraps, milling them by color, which eliminates the need for water, dyes and toxic agrochemicals used in the farming and processing of conventional virgin cotton. Polyester is obtained from post-consumer recycled PET bottles, giving renewed purpose to something that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. The resulting yarns are used to create the jersey and French terry fabrics used for YIP’s launch collection.
